Happy Father Day

Today all across America People Black, White, Hispanic and other nationalities will celebrate what is known as Father Day. A day set aside to honor and appreciate Father's. Some are deserving of it and other's aren't. But on this day I would like to celebrate the memory of my father the late Deacon Frank T. Gaines, One whom I would consider a par excellent roll model as a loving and dedicated man to his family and so many others with his unique and genius loving caring personality.

The person that I have become can be contributed to the up bringing of my father, He taught me great values to sustain in life, And how to be a Strong Black Saved Man...Growing up I watched and seem my father extend himself beyond the call of duty. He not only fathered his 7 Children, But Nephews, Nieces and members of the body of Christ. He provided along with my Mother the Late Missionary Fannie Gaines shelter, food and clothing to those that need it.

As Deacon of the Apostolic Church of God In Christ Jesus, under the leadership of Pastor Levy M. Miles, Pastor Percy J. Pitts and Pastor Gilbert L. Allen, My father was faithful to his call and appointment as Deacon, Again not only serving his personal family, He adopted and extended himself to many.

And it is with that, On this day we honor and celebrate as Father's Day I solute and honor the memory and legacy of my Natural Father The Late Deacon Frank T. Gaines...

Ready, Set And Go...

Hebrews 12:1 KJV
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

The race is set before us, Have you prepared yourself to make it to the finishing line, Or are you dragging your feet by not following the mandate that the Lord has given up by laying all those things that will slow you down, Such as the many weights of sin...The song says the road gets rough, The going gets toughs and even the hills are hard to climb...But this one thing I have made up my mind to do and that is I have decided to make Jesus my choice.

So grab a partner (The Word of God) and by fasting and praying you can make it to the finishing line. I plan to make it there what about you, Somehow I got to make this journey somehow, Satan on my track, Trying to turn me back, But I gotta make this journey somehow.... It's not how fast you run, but making it to the end!

Be Blessed!

Farther Along

Today I'm reflecting on one of the hymns of the Church, Farther Along We'll Know All About It, Farther Along Will Understand Why, Cheer Up My Brother, Live In The Sunshine, We'll Understand It....All By And By!

Sometimes Life gives us situation that we don't know what or how to handle them, But if we would only look to the hills from which comet our help, Being Jesus the Chief Cornerstone. We have a rock to stand upon, So as the song implies Cheer Up and Live In The Sunshine because their will be a Brighter Day Ahead!

I'm a true and living witness that God will not give you anything more than he know you can bear...It's A process we all have to go through in order to come out as Pure Gold tried in the fire.

I close encouraging you to hold on, be strong and run the race that have been given you to run. For at the end you will be more than a conqueror In Christ Jesus!

Florine Horton

Florine, Wow I am sadden with mix emotions, For over 32 years I known you, As a teenager entering for Official Duty for the Internet Revenue Service you befriended me along with other, And you kept the friendship real and later on it's seem like we became brother and sister, You gave me support and encourage me in my ministry of song...You called me from time to time to check up on me as any real sister would, And when the time I became critical ill, You came to my bedside and gave me words to encourage me that I will be alright...We had our differences in many things lol, But it didn't stop us for being brother and a sister to each other.

When I got the news that you had taken your flight from here I was so sadden, Because I felt a void so deeply sad...But you became tired and you needed your rest, So not to be selfish I must and I will let you take your rest.... So rest my sister your work is finish down here, And now that I'm grown I will always remember you as my on and off the job friend that was there for me till the end! Take your rest...Until the Lord return!

Where Do You Find Yourself? In Word & Worship, or Wrestling & Warfare?

The life of a believer is an great one, but at times perplexing one.

Many tend to believe that a believer's life will be one free of trials, hardships, and pain. But life has taught us that that's a fallacy!

Others believe that life will be filled with only good things. Things such as favor, abundance, and increase! Unfortunately, that too is untrue.

The truth is, the life of a believer vacillates between those 2 areas as well as and many others.

The question today is one that many ponder and worry about on a regular basis. Am I studying the Word enough? Do I spend enough time in Worship? Why am I always seemingly in Warfare? OR Why does it seem that I'm always Wrestling, like Jacob, for my blessing?

The question is not a WHY ME question, but rather a WHY NOT ME question!

Jesus was challenged in many of the same areas; therefore we should also expect to be. We tend to forget the he was God, but he wrapped himself in flesh. No, he didn't succumb to sin. But he was tempted, as we are, and had challenges during his JOURNEY, on earth, in route to his heavenly DESTINATION.

Heb 4:15* For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

So do your best to Worship and stay in Word! But know that much like an athlete developing muscle, know that God grants us moments of strength to get you over moments of Wrestling, Warfare and even Weakness!

I must also say that YOU WILL fall sometimes but get back up and continue the journey. When you do, start the progression all over again; Word, Worship, or Worship and Word!

Ro 3:23* For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Pr 24:16* For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again...

1Jo 1:9* If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Know this, our walk with God is about the JOURNEY, as much as it is about the DESTINATION!

I'm praying for you and I hope you're praying for me as well!

Why Did Jesus Fold The Napkin

As we commemorate the Death, Burial and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I would like to share with you something to reflect back on...

Why Did Jesus Fold the Napkin?

This is one I can honestly say I have never seen circulating in the
emails so; if it touches you, you may want to forward it.

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? I
never noticed this....

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed
over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave
clothes.

The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly
folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes.

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to
the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the
entrance.

She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom
Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the
tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!'

Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other
disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in
and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in.

Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen
wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was
folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important? Absolutely!

Is it really significant? Yes!

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have
to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The
folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish
boy knew this tradition.

When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure
that it was exactly the way the master wanted it.

The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait,
just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the
servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was
finished.

Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe
his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that
napkin and toss it onto the table.

The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the
wadded napkin meant, 'I'm done'.

But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and
laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table,
because..........

The folded napkin meant, 'I'm coming back!'

He is Coming Back!

25 Random Things About Me

1. My Parents name me Timothy because one of the Mother(s) of the church gave them a word from the Lord while my mother was caring me that I would be a boy born to do great things for God. So they did as told!
2. I'm not a only child I have 4 sisters, and 2 brothers, I am the 6 child. And no they are not short like me matter of fact both of my brother are 6Ft4.

3. I did think I was adopted tho LOL because of my height until God sent one of the saints my parents knew from another local church and she made mention to me that she remember my mom caring me while pregnant..."Oh what a release she was" lol

4. The Detroit Public School System didn't think when I first attended elementary school that I could handle it...But the devil was and still is a crazy demon from the pit of hell...My Parents and the School Principle fought on my behalf and you know the result...And The Decision was unanimous in my favor! I ended up going through Elementary, Jr. High and High School.

5. When I saw that everybody was out growing me in height I wonder what was going on, I mean I ate the proper meals lol took my vitamins...Then I remember asking my father why was everyone getting taller than me...And One day he met me at school on the playground and explain things to me. And as having a Saved Father he instilled in me values that has made me part of who I am today.By tell me that I could do all things, be all things, through Christ which strentghten me.

6. Growing up as a child I love basketball just like I still do today. And I remember oh so well I would go play basketball with my brothers and friends and I could never get the chance to throw the ball in because all it took was one person to just stand in front of me and just stand there because their height always block my shot... And one day my father can on the court and told everyone in fairness to me if I was able to get the ball... for everyone just to let me throw it to the rim without being blocked by them lol and they did.

Back in my early youth while I was growing up I feared discrimination again me because of my stature and thought I would face it throughout my life, I would cry to myself... and one day in prayer the Lord spoke to me so clear and told me Tim "If you serve me, Nothing You Need Will Beheld From You, I mean Nothing, Everything You Need Will Be Given Unto You" And as a living testimony throughout my life all my needs have been and continue to be met. Now their a difference in Needs and Wants...Wants can be a bonus.

10. I remember as a child I would sometimes use my height as a advantage...But not in my household, My parents would tell my siblings now if you know Tim needs assistance in this or that help him out...But if you know he can do it don't and with that principle being applied it made me the independent person that I am.

11. When I was a Young child I would play church so much, I would shout, speak in tongue, preach the whole nine yards and of course got whopping for play church... So when I got serious at the age of 12 and wanted to be saved. It was hard for me to know if I had the Holy Ghost, I felt the power of God... But the saints then would say you beta know for sure you gotta as oppose to get to the judgement seat and be told to depart... So week after week I would go to Prayer and Tarry mtg, Y'all remember them days and I would tarry and tarry for the HG and each time they would say to me Tim you got something you wanna tell us... I would say not tonight cause I didn't know if It was the HG or Me speaking like if how I would play church so finally on March 3, 1970 they ask me again and that night I felt a double portion of the HG and got up and told the saints I GOT IT, I GOT IT... And one of the mothers of the church told me I glad you finally confessed to receiving it because you been had it, We was wonder what was wrong with you...lol, lol, and I love that mother to this day, She went on to say we were about to quick tarrying with you lol lol lol

Be Healed, Be Delivered and Be Set Free

Greetings Family and Friends, This morning the Lord would have me to encourage the body of Christ to be healed, delivered and set free from the enemy camp for the devil himself have only come to steel, kill and destroy the people of God. But I want to encourage you that you have a greater weapon against the Devil and that weapon is the Power he has given up and that is Prayer.

The Lord gave me a message a few years back entitle "The Power of Prayer" taken from 2 Chronicle 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV)

And my Sub Topic was "If" Meaning if we want the Lord's attention their are conditions that we must adhere to and go by....Let's not have a shadow prayer life but a life with the power he has given us to call them things as they be. Walking in the authority he has given us to walk in good health, to be above and not beneath...

So against I encourage you to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his mite...Pray earnestly contending for the faith believing your Healing is on the way...Your Deliverance is at your front door of your life, Your breakthrough is in your Praise... When we do the things as perscribe by 2 Chronicle 7:14 then we will reap the benefits of hearing from heaven.... Those of you that might be unemployed Praise God because even in this economy times across our nation, Our God is still in control and always has and always will have the last say...But Pray and Trust Him! Those of you that might be sick in your body God took on the stripes so that we might be healed...Hold fast and Hold on to your faith...God can't lie he just can't and he won't!

So earnestly seek the Lord in prayer and begin to bless him for the things he has done in past and the greater things he going to do in your life, Oh bless the name of our God!

In closing I'm encouraging for us all to Pray more and contend for the Faith.... Prayer and Praise is the key and submitting to the will of the Lord...

Because of his Unmerited Favor, I Humbly Remain!

Elder Timothy Gaines

Evangelist Avis Smaw (From Labor To Reward)

Just a few days ago I temporary lost a Friend that was true to the Faith Of God,Who was anointed to do what God called and ordained her to do...One who could preach down heaven and had the ability to put a choir together that would sing forth the Praises of God, Who also had the ability to write and arrange music to the glory of God... Well the Lord called my sister from Labor To Reward and it's only temporary before we are all join back together to Sing,Worship and Praise The Name of our God together in Heaven.

My sister take your rest, Your crown awaits you in Glory for a job well done, I will miss you but as stated it's only temporary before the Trumpet Sounds and we will be back together in fellowship again in the presence of the Lord!

How Sacred Is the Pulpit?

"How sacred is the pulpit now days? Meaning conduct, lifestyle, character and the spiritual deportment of pastors, preachers, choir members, praise team, leaders, musicians - everything behind the sacred desk. For example how in the old testament the priest could only go in for our sins once a year and if they weren't living right. They did not come out alive and had to pull the strings to pull the dead priest out. The old church was a very serious place, consecrated to God. Now, as long as we are entertained, or people have gift and talents who cares what life they live..."

Answer the following questions:

1. Has gift/talent/anointing been exalted above character?

2. Do Christian leaders have a responsibility to live a life that is above reproach?

3. Should leaders be held accountable for sexual sins and moral failures? If so how?

4. Does Christian TV (TBN, Daystar, etc) have a responsibility to take a stand/position when popular ministers are involved in scandal?

5. What do you think about throwing money at a minister's feet while ministering? Is this practice biblical?

6. Should people whose lifestyles appear to be obviously inconsistent with biblical positions be allowed to minister just because of their gifting?

7. In these days of anything goes lifestyles, should most men in ministry over the age of 30 be married? Why?

8. In many black churches ministries are held hostage by mercenary musicians who don't join the ministry, play/teach/direct/sing, routinely leave out during the message, then return just in time for the climax and altar call. Is the pastor responsible for their soul?

9. Theatrics and the playing of spooky dramatic music seems to be replacing flat-footed teaching and preaching. Is this okay to you?

10. Does materialism and desire for wealth and possessions affect a leaders ability to stay focused?

11. Why are so many pastors falling into sin? Is it okay because they're only human?

12. Are people manipulated by leaders when their spiritual, financial, material, medical, or emotional deliverance is attached to giving?

13. Do we live in an era of "Do as I say and not as I do?" Christianity?

Feel Free To respond to this is you so desire to, Your comments are always welcome here on my blog!

History In The Making

As I awaking from my slumber in great anticipation on Tuesday Morning January 20, 2009 on a day that would become symbolic for years to come as History was in the making, The Long Awaited Vision for the African America Heritage I was with mix emotion. I was so excited that the Lord allowed me the opportunity to see this day a day in which I wish my beloved Parents could have seen, A day that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Visualize and Prophesized it so to be. A day that countless others gave their lives that one day we would all come together as one and celebrate as a nation., The 1st Inauguration of an African American President.

Oh how well as a young lad I remember my parents and countless others telling me the things that they had to endure as Black African American’s and their struggles in life to survive so that today we could all have the freedom we have today.

As I mention earlier I arose early turned on the Television, My laptop computer because I didn’t want to miss anything symbolic with this moment in time. The media really covered it oh so well to the point I almost felt like I was actually there in the crowd only part I was warm as people in attendance at the Nation Capital no doubt was freezing cold on the outside of their body and warm within from excitement of this day made in history. I mean I was glued all day long only to take a break for a hour only because the media took a break to only continue the coverage of the evening segment of Inaugural Events… I watched past midnight and that’s because I was tried in every sense of the word.

In my summation of this Historic Event I close Congratulating President Barack Obama to the Highest Office in the US. I pray the blessings and favor of God upon you and your entire administration, I pray God protection over you and your Wife Michele Obama and children, I pray that the Lord gives you Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding as you lead this country during your term in office, And that the Lord cancel every assignment that the enemy try to bring against you. I pray that we as a people especially those who are called by God to stand in the gap of prayer on your behalf. For it is in Him (Jesus) we live, move and have our being!

One On One With Darrell Cannon of DLC Collection

Greetings to all of my blog readers and supporters, I would like to say Happy New Year to you and your family.

For this blog I thought I would write something a little different from the norm... This blog will focus on a young man brought up in the church and has per sued a career in Modeling and Fashions and is the Developer of DLC Collection.

Timothy Gaines: Greetings and blessings to you my brother in Christ, How are you doing?

Darrell Cannon: I am Blessed!!! Just enjoying Life.

Tim: I’m excited about this interview to share with Family and Friends from across this country on My Blog Spot, The reason I’m excited is because you are a saved young man living a life exclusive for the Lord. To get us started why don’t you share a little something about yourself, Things that you would like for all of the readers and supporter to know about you?

Darrell: OK..I was raised in Ypsilanti Michigan. I am the oldest of four children. I am currently working on my modeling career. I have been modeling since I was 8 years old. This career has been pass through three generations of my family. I am a man who know his purpose.

Tim: Since this is primarily a Christian base group of reader, Tell us what’s your Church affiliation, And some of the things you participate in under that ministry.

Darrell: I am a Disciple at Great Faith Ministries International in Detroit Michigan under the Leadership of Bishop Wayne T. & Dr. Beverly Jackson. I am very active in the ministry. I sing on the Praise & Worship Team, help assist on the Administration Staff, Shepherds Day Team and so much more.

Tim: Tell me this Darrell isn’t your parents real active in the Ministry and have been for some time now? And what are their rolls in the Ministry?

Darrell: My parents (Elder Broderick & Evangelist Doris Cannon) have been very active in ministry for over 30 years now. They have a blog talk radio ministry. My Father is an awesome teacher and a Student of the Word of God.. My mother is a Evangelist and Prophetess. So as you can see I am a PK.

Tim: Are you the only child or do you have other siblings?

Darrell:Yes I have 2 brother and one sister.

Tim: So Darrell moving right along, Tell us how did you get in the industry of Fashion?

Darrell: Like any other young person, I like clothes and shoes...lol. I would go out shopping looking for things to wear, I was never satisfied with the things I saw. So I begin to get ideas in my mind and I began to draw them out on paper. So most of my suits and cuff-links are custom made.

Tim: Have you always wanted to be a Model from childhood? Or was this something you consider after becoming an adult?

Darrell: Well Tim, I always knew as a child that greatness was inside of me. I wanted to be a Lawyer because I like to research things and I like to argue..LOL. Alot of people would tell me that I would make a good model. So in 2000 I had decided to try to pursue a modeling career. It was very hard because I had so many negative people around me. I would go to audition and would not get pick so that brought on a spirit of rejection. So for a couple of years, I decided not to pursue being a model. In 2006, I was preparing for my 25Th Birthday Party. I had decided to take some pictures for the party.. I met a photographer by the name of Jeffery Cross and he really encourage me to pursue a modeling career again. So I did 3 photo shoot with him. After taking those pictures, for six months I didn't do anything with them. One Sunday morning in November of 2007, I was sitting in church and My Pastor was speaking the the congregation and he said that 2008 was the year of Manifestation. I knew that word was for me. So a friend of mines told me about a website that helps models network with people in the industry. Since January 2007 until now, God has allow me to do two T.V commercial, numerous fashion shows and photo shoot in the Metro Detroit Area.

Tim: What were your parents thought about it when you approach them with the idea of being a Model?

Darrell: When I went to my parents and told them about this, they were very excited about it. They are very supportive of my career. They come to all of my shows and sit in the front row.

Tim: What about your Pastor?

Darrell: Bishop is one of the reason why I dress the way I do. The Bishop can dress..LOL.Bishop and Dr. Beverly are very supportive. I am always giving them update and they keep me in prayer. "They teach us at Great Faith to seek God concerning the plan and purpose that he has for our lives."

Tim: The reason I asked that question is because when I was a kid coming up in holiness, The Parents and the Pastor only gave you limited things to choose, What you could or what they would allow you to become in society?

Darrell: I believe that our Parents and Pastors have our best interest at heart. I live a very shelter life and there was things I could and could not do. The scriptures says to "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" Even when I got older and tried to do my own thang, God always pulled me back to him. My Parents and Pastors understood that in order for me to become the Man, I have to experience different things.

Tim: OK Darrell outside of Fashion what are other things that interest you?

Darrell: I love to Roller Skate, cooking, traveling, music and spending time with my family. By me being very active in the church, I like to bring new ideas that can help our ministry grow and to give back to the community.

Tim: So with DLC Collections what is your optimist goal to accomplish?

Darrell: I believe that this business will be a blessing to so many people. DLC collections will consit of different things, Fashion Designers, wardrobe stylists, photographers, makeup artists and hair stylist. In this industry, they are so many young men and women that are dealing with low-self esteem concerning the way they look. My goal is to help many young men and women see the beauty that God is place inside of them and for the to know that you can make in this industry with compromising to get what you want. I would like to start a Christian Base entertainment agency to help get jobs in the entertainment world.

.

Tim: If someone wanted to become a part of DLC Collection, What are the requirement or is it a closed but selective Group?

Darrell: If you are very serious about getting into the fashion industry, you can email me at officiallydarrell@yahoo.com. This group is more for the Metro Detroit Area for now. We will go global soon.

Tim: Well Derrell I really would like to thank you for sharing with my reading and viewable blog fan base and I pray Blessings and most success to you as you live a saved life showing young people that they can pursue their vision’s and dreams and yet remain faithful to God.

Tim: So if there anything further you would like to tell my viewing audience that I may not have asks you, If so feel free to express and inform me. You know I pressing on the upward way, I’ll say like one of my beloved mentor’s and pastor would say I’ll Youthful and Dynamic lol

Darrell: Thank you Tim for taking time out to let me share with the world that Gift that God has place inside of me. For those who reading this article all I can say is, "If you Delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desire of you heart". God Bless!!

Tim: You're quite welcome my brother, I'm delighted that you allowed me the opportunity to talk with you and for you to share with my viewing audience of things that Young People are doing and yet living a wholesome saved life. I pray for much success in all you do and that Lord grant you favor!

Because Of His Unmerited Favor, I Humbly Remain!
